The Hartwell Railroad today operates on it's original right-of-way and and has expanded on the former Southern Railway line between Toccoa, Lavonia, Bowersville and the CSX Abbeville Subdivision at Elberton Georgia.

I have some news as of September 2001.  The yards at Airline seem to to have become a junkyard.  Here are two recent photos:
